Swedish Chess Squares “Chackrutor”

Ingridiens:

200 gram butter

2,5 cup flour

2/3 cup sugar

2 tabelspoons cacao

1 teaspoon vanilla paste

Method:

1 Work butter, flour, sugar with your fingers to a dough. Put in fridge to cool down.

2 Divide the dough into three same size pieces.

3 Spice one piece with cacao, one with vanilla paste and leave one just plain.

4 Make two long roles out of the cacao dough and vanilla dough. A total of four roles.

5 Stack them together to one big “square role” (see pictures)

6 Roll out the plain dough and wrap it around the “square roll”. Slice it up in 1 cm big slices.

7 Put the slices on a try and cook in oven 225 degrees for 10 minutes.

8 Let them cool down on a wire rack.
